More importantly, our laser system is known for its incredibly gentle, and almost pain-free treatment, so you can enjoy smoother, clear, hair-free skin in a comfortable, convenient procedure.

The Procedure for Laser Hair Removal

It’s highly recommended that patients come into the procedure with about 2-3 days of hair growth in their area of choice, leaving small 2-3mm stubs of hair. On the day of the procedure, we’ll prepare the treatment area by cleaning it and drying it. The area will be marked, and the applicator will begin to deliver pulses of energy throughout the target area.

Because laser hair removal only works on hairs when they’re at a specific point in their growth cycle, multiple sessions will be required to clear an entire area from hair. These sessions need to be spread apart by a few weeks so that almost all the hairs in the treatment areas can be treated once they reach the appropriate part of their growth cycle.

Because our laser system is so gentle, you won’t need any numbing or local anesthetic before the treatment. In fact, most of our patients report it as feeling like a nice warming sensation. Afterwards, you can go home, go back to work, or resume your daily activities.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal essentially works by delivering a high amount of laser energy into the hair follicles, essentially damaging them and reducing its ability to grow hair. Our laser systems delivers a specific type of light that targets melanin, which is present in our skin and hair. By targeting the dark pigments in our hair, laser hair removal can target the hair follicles without damaging the skin.

A longer pulse duration means that heat has a chance to spread across the skin, making it likely for the skin to be damaged. Our Aerolase laser system has an incredibly fast pulse duration of 650 microseconds, which is a millionth of a second. That fast pulse duration allows the skin to cool in between each pulse, and allows for a more efficient treatment. The incredibly quick pulse duration also allows for the delivery of a higher-powered laser, meaning you’ll be able to undergo an efficient and effective treatment that still gentle and safe for the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal can work on almost every single part of the body.

Areas like face, underarms, the bikini line, and the back are common places to have laser hair removal.

Our laser’s unique mechanism allows it to deliver energy to the skin at incredible speeds of 650 microseconds, allowing the treatment to effectively treat the hair follicles while protecting the skin.

Because laser hair removal systems work by targeting pigment, other devices were often only effective for patients with dark hair and light skin. This meant that those with darker skin tones were likely to have an ineffective treatment or even have their skin damaged. Luckily, our Aerolase laser hair removal system works on all kinds of skin tones and has been determined to be incredibly safe and comfortable.

The number of laser hair removal treatments you will need will depend on a few factors like the size of the treatment area, hair color, skin tone, and the degree of hairiness.

Laser hair removal is technically permanent hair reduction because it reduces the amount of hair on the body rather than permanently stop the growth of all hair in an area. However, with laser hair removal you should see a significant and noticeable decrease of hair in the treated area: up to 80%.
